As a photographer who recently underwent the Roots Consulting program, I just want to say that it is the best investment a wedding photographer can make in themselves, their business, and the future of both! Typically, I think new business owners shy away from consultants because no one wants to be told they aren’t on the right track, especially by someone who doesn’t really understand their business. But you (J & Emilie) managed to give me confidence and constructive criticism at the same time. You two have some serious street cred so I was getting advice about my business from the best! The changes you suggested were both meaningful and manageable. Many of them were simple enough that I was able to make them the day I received your review. Some of them I’d already been considering and your review gave me the kick in the butt that I needed to get moving on them! And, your review of my image portfolio had such great tips that I printed it out and carry it in my camera bag! I am so excited about the direction I am headed. A huge thank you!

Looks like you and Sarah have come along well from your start in the industry. Great to hear that you had a photographer that inspired you to get into shooting. It really is an amazing industry that I have found to be so open with photographers willing to share their knowledge and skills.
