With so many smart people in Washington…I am not sure why our government can’t run our country like we have to run our businesses. We live in the richest country in the world, yet somehow I wonder if it is all just an illusion. I found this graph on Mr. Gary Fong’s blog and certainly Gary is painting a fairly bleak picture of the coming years financially. I’m not quite the pessimist that GF is, but the realist in me says that our current wave of prosperity that we have been riding for so long is bound to correct itself somewhat. Something to think about anyway…
Update: I caught an interview with Allen Greenspan this weekend and he said it was very hard to forecast a recession but it is 50/50 that we will experience one in the coming months/year. Many people believe that our industry is recession proof, as people will always be getting married. Maybe our couples don’t spend as much, our products start to cost more…many things could contribute to a more challenging marketplace.
